Happy Holidays
The Parkdale Village Business Improvement Area would like to wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season and a prosperous 2009! The office will be closed from Dec 24 - 26 and Dec 31 - Jan 1.
Capital Design Strategy
PVBIA is happy to announce that the capital design strategy will be completed by Urban Strategies Inc. this month and copies will be made available in January for members. The strategy is ultimately about identifying opportunities for improving the streetscape of Parkdale. It will be used to build upon the vibrant character that exists while developing ways to improve beautify and promote Parkdale as a vibrant business area.

PVBIA Marketing Committee Needs You
The PVBIA Marketing Committee is seeking new members to join. The committee on average meets monthly and is responsible for special events. We are in the midst of putting together the 2009 programming and would like to receive input from the membership. For more information contact Heather at parkdalebia@rogers.com or 416-536-6918.
PVBIA Events
The PVBIA will be producing a week long festival dubbed "Fireside Culture Week", in early March. Participating venues will have an opportunity to host spokenword, music, visual art, film, readings and much more. The event will be an opportunity for people to come in from the cold and get cultured in Parkdale. If you would like to be a participating venue or find out more information contact the PVBIA office.
Now in its 4th year, Nuit Blanche is set to take place Oct 3, 2009 from sunset to sunrise. Once again PVBIA will be submitting an application to partner with Toronto Special Events to host Nuit Blanche in Parkdale. If you would like to be included as a venue for Nuit Blanche 2009 contact the PVBIA office.
Business Workshops
The Toronto Police Service will be hosting a one-day intensive workshop which focuses on community problem-solving and crime prevention. The Community Mobilization Workshop will instruct participants on how to make themselves and their property safer. For more information and an application go to torontopolice.on.ca Upcoming classes are scheduled for Feb 21, April 11 and May 9.
