Parkdale Village Then

The Village of Parkdale, on the western edge of Toronto sitting on the shores of Lake Ontario, was incorporated in 1879 and became the Town of Parkdale in 1886. Parkdale Village and the surrounding residential area was a wealthy suburb which was home to many large Victorian mansions that still exist here today. Organized tours such as ROMwalks take place where people can stroll the tree lined streets and learn about these wonderful examples of Victorian-era architecture.
